Charity Finance Group and Agenda announce new partnership for Finance Count

October 2014

Charity Finance Group (CFG) and Agenda Consulting have agreed a new partnership for Finance Count, the Third Sector Financial Management Benchmarking Study.

CFG, with its close ties to the sector, will lead on the promotion and future shape of Finance Count, and Agenda will continue to provide access to its benchmark database, data management, product training and reports.

Roger Parry, Director Agenda Consulting commented, “Charity Finance Group has always been a strong supporter of Finance Count. We are delighted that CFG has chosen to take the lead on the development of the study. As the charity which ‘champions best practice in finance management in the voluntary sector’ with more than 2,200 members, it makes absolute sense for CFG to take Finance Count forward. Agenda’s research expertise, along with our specially designed systems for reporting and analysis, complement CFG’s offer to its members and we will continue to work closely to provide the best service to not-for-profit organisations.”

Caron Bradshaw, CEO Charity Finance Group said, “Benchmarking is a useful way for organisations to understand and improve their performance. We look forward to working with Agenda Consulting to develop the study and grow its reach and impact.”

Finance Count will not run in 2014 – the study will next take place in summer/autumn 2015 and CFG will be in touch with all its members in spring 2015, to confirm details.

Those organisations wishing to assess their finance management performance before the next study, can still take part as a late participant, in the Finance Count study published in February 2014.

2.2  Reporting & Control and Decision Support
2.3  The Finance Function
2.4  Central Function Costs

Charity Finance Group

Charity Finance Group (CFG) is the charity that champions best practice in finance management in the voluntary sector. Our training and development programmes enable finance managers to give the essential leadership on finance strategy and management that their charities need. Our growing membership of more than 2,000 members, representing 1,300 charities, means we are uniquely placed to challenge regulation, which threatens the effective use of charity funds.

We are committed to supporting all those who work in charity finance. Our conferences and training are open to all, and our policy consultations, the results of sector surveys and our publications are widely available.

CFG is represented on many committees and working parties established by professional bodies, government departments, regulators and not-for-profit committees. This enables us to give voice to the views of charity finance managers on issues that affect the effective management of charity funds, such as tax, investment, impact and regulation.
