Social Care Reward 2016-17 is a salary and benefits study focussed on social care. 36 organisations took part, and provided data as of June 2016.
On average the organisational paybill represents two thirds of total expenditure amongst social care organisations (People Count Third Sector 2015), making it the biggest area of expenditure by some way.
With continued financial pressure on social care organisations and the National Living Wage having come into effect on 1 April 2016, well informed and evidence based decisions on reward are key.
Scope of the study
The study covers pay and benefits for the following roles:
Apprentice Support Workers
Nurse Team Leaders
Senior Support Workers
Specialist Support Workers
Deputy Service Managers

“We used the results from the last Agenda social care reward report to inform our negotiations and decisions around our 2016 pay proposals and our benefits review. It is really useful to keep up to date with what other similar organisations are offering in terms of pay and benefits.”
