Sonia has worked at Advance since 1990. She has a particular interest in raising the profile of the Voluntary and Care sectors and has previously chaired the Charities HR Network. She is a member of the Social Care Employers Consortium.
Caroline Cannar, Head of Employee Relations, Rethink.
Caroline has worked for the charity for the last 15 years in a variety of roles, both in Operations and then in HR. In 2003 Caroline was awarded the CIPD Advanced Certificate in Law and in October 2005 she was appointed lay member of Employment Tribunals, sitting at Ashford, Kent.
Jenny Clark, Research Officer, Workforce Hub.
Jenny has managed the UK Workforce Hub research programme since 2005. Current work includes regular analysis of the Labour Force Survey to gain a comprehensive understanding of voluntary sector employment. Jenny also manages the UK Voluntary Sector Skills Survey.
Ben Emmens, Director of HR Services, People In Aid.
Ben is an international human resources specialist with more than 10 years experience in HR and general management in the public, private and not for profit sectors. Prior to joining People In Aid in 2003, he was part of Save the Children UK's international human resources team, working with a wide range of emergency and development programmes around the world.
Sue Kaemena, HR Director, The Children’s Trust.
Sue’s background is in various sectors, and her previous HR roles include work with Thames Water and the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She has an MA in Personnel Management and has been with the Children’s Trust for 6 years. Sue won the Third Sector Excellence Award for HR Strategy in 2006.
