Our annual event returns on Thursday 8 March 2018, attracting c 200 heads of HR and Volunteering from the not-for-profit sector. It comprises several workshops and plenary sessions, with a focus on engagement and strategies for effective people management.
A couple of years ago, we had a panel discussion on ‘Loud and clear: using internal comms to give voice to your people strategy’, led by John Townsend, Children’s Society; Claire Westall, Macmillan; Jess Noble, RNLI. It was extremely well attended and had great feedback from delegates.
The 2018 programme is shaping up to be a lot of fun and to provoke ideas and thoughtful discussion. We wondered whether the Internal Comms group might like to be involved again:
One: Nina Callard, Cancer Research UK and Helen Schick, Alzheimer’s Society, have kindly agreed to run a panel workshop, ‘The critical role of leaders in internal communications’ and would welcome contributions from you, if you’d like to take part.
Two: We are also very interested in running a session which focusses on ‘Digital Engagement – How to engage your people using digital platforms and other media’. We’re not sure exactly how this might look, but feel it’s a very important area to look at, particularly in this sector, where employees and volunteers often range in age, role and location. It would be good to share internal comms experience with the HR and Volunteer leaders, to consider their roles and what they have to communicate to whom, and perhaps give recommendations about what they might use in the future.
If you would like to be involved in either, or have suggestions for good speakers who could cover the Digital Engagement area, please email or call me on 01865 263723 as soon as possible, as we would like to finalise the programme in the next couple of weeks.
I hope you would like to take part.
